La Serenissima Stole
Inspired by the waters of Venice, this scarf is a great beginning lace project. I first saw this checkerboard mesh pattern in Barbara Walker’s Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns and fell in love with the way it reminded me of the reflection of the window screens on the waters of the canals in Venice. This is a good pattern to learn how to “read” your knitting and it is easy to fix any mistakes.
